About The Position

The Assistant Service Manager at Leander Park Apartments is responsible for maintaining and repairing the community, responding to resident service requests, coordinating apartment turnovers, performing preventive maintenance, and helping keep the property clean, safe, and attractive. The role includes hands-on work with plumbing, electrical systems, appliances, carpentry, and painting. On-the-job training may be provided as needed. The position requires a flexible schedule, including weekends, and rotating on-call coverage for after-hours emergencies. Hilltop Residential will cover the cost of obtaining the required EPA Universal or HVAC certification for a candidate selected for the role who meets the other requirements.

Requirements

At least 1 year of hands-on general maintenance experience.
Availability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends.
Rotating on-call responsibility for after-hours emergencies.
Valid driver's license and/or access to reliable transportation.
EPA Universal or HVAC certification is required; Hilltop Residential will cover the cost of obtaining it for a selected candidate who meets the other requirements.

Responsibilities

Repair and maintain plumbing, electrical systems, appliances, carpentry, and painting needs throughout the community.
Respond to service requests, collaborate with teammates, and prioritize maintenance issues to support resident satisfaction.
Monitor apartment vacancies daily and initiate the turnover process, including painting, cleaning, and repairs.
Perform regular preventive maintenance and tune-ups to protect equipment and reduce costly repairs.
Walk the property daily to inspect cleanliness and safety and maintain curb appeal.
