About The Position

Develops and implements Corps recruitment programs and policies in accordance with guidelines established by the Commandant of Cadets and the Assistant Commandant for Recruiting. Reports to the Assistant Commandant for Recruiting and implements a comprehensive Corps recruiting plan focused on outreach to families and external student recruiting. Designs and implements recruiting initiatives to attract diverse, talented, and productive student cadets to Virginia Tech.

Works internally with personnel from ROTC departments, the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, and members of the cadet regiment, and serves on internal committees as required. Works externally with Virginia Tech Corps of Cadets Alumni, Inc. (VTCCA) and event-planning vendors. This is primarily an in-person position.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• College fair and/or recruiting experience with a federal service academy, senior military college, college ROTC program, or comparable professional experience in higher education.
• Persuasive communication skills.
• Effective presentation skills.
• Collaborative work style.
• Ability to interact effectively with diverse populations.
• Ability to provide leadership through counseling, coaching, and mentoring to alumni volunteers, cadets, and current high school and college students.
• Successful candidate must undergo a criminal conviction check.

Nice To Haves

• Master’s degree in business management, marketing, communications, higher education, public affairs, or a related field.
• Experience with SLATE in an Admissions or Enrollment Management role.
• ROTC or military experience.
• Experience managing volunteers and families within a higher education setting.
