About The Position

Community Housing Services, a Utah nonprofit working to provide safe, affordable, dignified housing regardless of financial circumstances, is hiring an Assistant Property Manager to support its Black Hills and Snow Canyon family communities in St. George, Utah. Black Hills has 50 apartments, and Snow Canyon has 39 apartments. The role supports the Property Manager and runs the properties in their absence. It includes applicant interviews and move-in assistance, preparation and verification of housing certifications, accurate accounting and recordkeeping, and welcoming residents, vendors, and visitors. The work is mostly desk and computer work, with regular walks around the properties and occasional lifting of up to 15 pounds.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Three years of experience as an Assistant Property Manager or in a similar affordable housing role.
Customer service skills, including the ability to handle complicated situations.
Clear written and verbal communication.
Comfort with computers, reports, and recordkeeping.
Care in handling confidential resident and applicant information.

Nice To Haves

HUD, RD, and tax credit experience.

Responsibilities

Support the Property Manager and run the properties when the Property Manager is away.
Interview housing applicants and help them through move-in in accordance with HUD and Community Housing Services requirements.
Prepare and verify HUD, RD, and tax credit certifications.
Keep accounting forms and reports accurate and on time.
Welcome residents, vendors, and visitors.
Assist with work orders when needed.
