About The Position

The Assistant Program Manager assists the Program Manager with supervisory responsibilities in a group home setting and helps ensure the smooth operation of caregiver services provided by Direct Support staff to adults with developmental disabilities. The role promotes respectful, person-centered support and helps individuals build independence and participate in meaningful community-centered opportunities.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED, and two years of related experience.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, and exercise sound judgment.
Basic computer knowledge.
Valid driver’s license, access to an operational and insured vehicle, and willingness to use it to transport clients.

Responsibilities

Ensure individuals receiving support are treated with dignity and respect.
Assist with supervising staff.
Help staff promote self-advocacy, decision-making, and empowerment, and develop person-centered goals and strategies.
Develop and monitor creative, interesting, community-centered opportunities for individuals.
Schedule and attend individuals’ medical, dental, psychiatric, and other necessary appointments as needed.
Complete progress notes and other required documentation.
Monitor staff scheduling to support economy and program coverage.
Audit individuals’ financial records and assist with monthly business reports, including petty cash and spending reports.
Ensure accurate medication administration in accordance with MAP procedures.
Lead and attend staff meetings as appropriate.
