About The Position

The Department of Pediatrics, Division of Neonatology at the University of Washington is seeking to hire a faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Full Professor without tenure by reason of funding (WOT), on the Clinician-Scholar track. The position is full-time with a twelve-month appointment. Assistant Professors are on a 3-year renewable term, with eligibility for multi-year appointments. Associate and Full Professors hold indefinite appointments. Faculty on a 12-month service period are paid for 11 months of service, with one month available for paid time off. The Department of Pediatrics is a large department within the UW School of Medicine, affiliated with Seattle Children's Hospital and Seattle Children's Research Institute. Faculty are located at various institutions and are part of the Children’s University Medical Group (CUMG) clinical practice plan. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in clinical care, education, and scholarship. The Division of Neonatology focuses on neonatal neuroprotection/neuroscience, simulation as an educational tool, and global neonatal-perinatal health. The division also has an ethics program at the Treuman Katz Center for Pediatric Bioethics. The Seattle-Tacoma/South Puget Sound region offers a desirable living environment with numerous cultural, educational, and recreational opportunities.

Requirements

  • MD or DO degree (or foreign equivalent)
  • Board certified or eligible (or foreign equivalent) in Neonatology or Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine
  • Eligible for medical licensure in state of Washington
  • For H-1B visa sponsorship: graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all 3 steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE) or equivalent
