The Department of Psychiatry at the University of British Columbia (UBC), in partnership with the Institute of Mental Health and the Vancouver Fraser Medical Program (VFMP), is inviting applications for the Royal Columbian Hospital Foundation Professorship in Mental Health. This new endowed professorship is open to qualified applicants for appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor (tenure track) or Associate Professor (tenure). The position will be primarily based at the VFMP site in New Westminster, BC, at the Mental Health and Substance Use Wellness Centre at Royal Columbian Hospital (RCH), serving the Fraser Health Authority. The professorship aims to support mental health research and training, focusing on the mental health challenges of immigrant, ethnically diverse, and refugee populations in the Fraser Health region. The successful candidate will lead a research program, collaborate with clinicians and scientists, and actively support the teaching activities of the Vancouver Fraser Medical Program and the Psychiatry Residency Training Program. They will also provide mentorship to learners and clinicians within Fraser Health. The role involves contributing to an exceptional learning environment, advancing mental health research, and promoting sustainable care for mental illness and addictions.
