About The Position

The Assistant Produce Department Manager oversees daily produce operations, ensuring freshness, quality, strong merchandising, and customer service. The role supports department performance and customer trust through inventory control, associate leadership, and high standards for product presentation. It is a fast-paced, hands-on position focused on delivering fresh, high-quality produce and developing associates.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily Produce Department operations with a focus on freshness, quality, and customer service.
• Provide knowledgeable, friendly service and ensure associates demonstrate strong product knowledge.
• Execute corporate merchandising programs, planograms, seasonal sets, and promotional displays.
• Maintain full, fresh, clean, and visually appealing produce displays.
• Rotate products, remove damaged or unsellable items, and maintain freshness standards.
• Order, receive, inspect, and store products according to food safety and rotation guidelines.
• Manage shrink through inventory controls, root-cause identification, and waste-reduction strategies.
• Build and manage labor schedules aligned with business needs.
• Train, coach, and develop produce associates while maintaining a positive team environment.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, safety, and company operational standards.
