About The Position

The Produce Assistant Manager supports the produce department's operations, including inventory management, pricing, and merchandising. The role involves planning, ordering, and processing produce to maximize sales and gross profit, while helping ensure the department is adequately staffed and operates safely. The assistant manager helps train and supervise new employees and maintain a supply of fresh, high-quality produce through proper rotation. Responsibilities also include ensuring merchandise is correctly ordered, received, unloaded, stored, and displayed, as well as performing other tasks assigned by management. The position requires adherence to strict sanitation, food safety, and personal hygiene standards.

Responsibilities

• Manage produce department inventory, pricing, and merchandising.
• Plan, order, and process produce to maximize sales and gross profit.
• Support labor management and employee safety in the produce department.
• Ensure new employees receive proper training and supervision.
• Maintain the supply and rotation of fresh, high-quality produce.
• Ensure merchandise is correctly ordered, received, unloaded, and stored.
• Build produce displays and complete other tasks assigned by management.
• Adhere to sanitation, food safety, and personal hygiene standards.
