About The Position

Assist General Parts Manager in the day-to-day operation of the Chattanooga parts department.

Requirements

• Basic computer skills
• Valid driver's license and be insurable
• Pass a DOT physical
• Maintain a professional working environment with professional drivers, coworkers, and vendors.
• Proficient problem-solving skills.
• Ability to build and maintain strong internal and external relationships.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years of experience in a parts department setting required.

Nice To Haves

• Be able to operate a fork truck in a safe manner after obtaining a forklift license thru company’s program.

Responsibilities

• Performing daily cycle count of inventory from assigned areas of responsibility.
• Issuing Purchase Orders for special ordered items.
• Notifying manager when an inventory discrepancy is identified.
• Ensuring stock is put in assigned bin once received.
• Ensuring parts counter is being attended to by available Parts Clerks.
• Monitoring and managing daily parts room operations to ensure maximum productivity.
• Monitoring back orders and following up with vendors to ensure prompt delivery while notifying GPM if there will be an extended delay.
• Confirming special ordered items are charged out to the proper RO.
• Correctly identifying parts and having working knowledge of VRMS system.
• Keeping work area clean, neat and organized.
• Operating a fork truck in a safe manner after obtaining a forklift license thru company’s program.
