About The Position

The Assistant Moving Center Manager supports the center’s day-to-day operations and may run the center when the General Manager is absent. The role involves making operational decisions, assigning and managing team members, and ensuring customers receive an excellent first impression and high-quality care. Additional duties may include installing hitches and brake controllers. The position includes ongoing education through U-Haul University. The job is located at 11300 S Sam Houston Pkwy W Ste 100, Houston, Texas 77031. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must not require employer sponsorship. The work may involve moderate risks or discomforts, including working around moving parts, machines, fumes, or irritant chemicals. Protective gear may be required. Physical activities include extended periods indoors and outdoors while stationary, traversing spaces, repositioning to use tools, and moving at least 50 pounds, assisted or unassisted.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Driver’s license and ability to maintain a clean driving record.
Leadership experience in any form.
Customer service experience.
Ability to work a variety of shifts.
Legally authorized to work without employer sponsorship.
Must not use nicotine products to be eligible for hiring or re-hiring in Texas, as stated in the posting.

Responsibilities

Run the center’s daily operations in the General Manager’s absence.
Make moment-to-moment decisions about allocating time and resources to projects.
Manage and assign team members to ensure customers receive an excellent first impression and high-quality care.
Perform miscellaneous duties such as installing hitches and brake controllers.
Participate in ongoing continuous education through U-Haul University.
