Assistant Moving Center Manager
About The Position
The Assistant Moving Center Manager supports the daily operations of a U-Haul center and takes responsibility for running the center in the General Manager’s absence. The role involves making operational decisions, allocating time and resources, assigning team members, and helping ensure customers receive a strong first impression and high-quality service. The position also includes equipment-related work such as installing hitches and brake controllers, along with ongoing training through U-Haul University. The job is located at 7401 Timberlake Rd, Lynchburg, Virginia 24502. Compensation is $14.50 to $16.50 per hour. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must not require employer sponsorship. The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, a driver’s license with a clean driving record, leadership and customer service experience, and availability to work a variety of shifts. The work may involve safety risks and physical exertion, including moving at least 50 pounds with or without assistance. U-Haul advertises a $100 hiring bonus and a $300 cash bonus upon completion of U-Haul Equipment Inspection and Verification through its 1-2-3 Punch Certification Program at retail stores. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Driver’s license and ability to maintain a clean driving record.
- Leadership experience in any form.

Responsibilities
- Run the center’s daily operations in the General Manager’s absence.
- Make moment-to-moment decisions to allocate time and resources to appropriate projects.
- Manage and assign team members to help ensure customers receive an excellent first impression and high-quality care.
- Perform miscellaneous duties such as installing hitches and brake controllers.
- Participate in ongoing U-Haul education through U-Haul University.
