About The Position

Assist in managing West End Market under the direction of the unit operations manager. The role supports menu and personnel planning, customer relations, sales and register transactions, safety and sanitation, and the maintenance and security of the building and equipment. The Assistant Manager supervises, counsels, trains, and develops employees; ensures policies and procedures are followed; and maintains a high level of customer service in the dining facility. The position also creates performance plans and completes performance evaluations for salaried direct reports.

Requirements

• Working knowledge of commercial kitchen and food service operations.
• Supervision and/or management experience in a multiple-item-menu food service establishment.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations, safe food handling practices, and food sanitation.
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel and the public.
• Experience with automated scheduling and automated food inventory systems.
• Previous experience operating an electronic cash register and accurately exchanging credit and debit card tender.

Nice To Haves

• ServSafe certification and HACCP certification.
• Food Service or Nutrition as an area of educational study.
• Previous experience providing excellent customer service.
• Demonstrated knowledge of computers, including Windows and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
