About The Position

Morrie's Auto Group is hiring a Technician at Morrie's West End Lincoln in Saint Louis Park, Minnesota. The role diagnoses and repairs vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, electrical systems, steering, suspension, and brakes. The technician tests vehicles and components, inspects critical parts, uses diagnostic equipment and tools, and writes vehicle damage repair estimates. The position is full-time, with a listed hourly salary range of $25.00–$45.00. Newly hired technicians may be eligible for a sign-on bonus based on experience: a free toolbox with tools or a bonus of up to $5,000.

Requirements

• A clean driving record and a valid driver's license.
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Ability to work flexible hours and Saturdays.

• For entry-level candidates, working knowledge of cars is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair problems with engines, transmissions, electrical systems, steering, suspension, brakes, and similar vehicle systems.
• Test systems and components to check that they are secure and working properly.
• Drive vehicles for testing or use equipment such as compression gauges and diagnostic computers.
• Maintain efficiency and accuracy when diagnosing and repairing vehicles.
• Follow a checklist to examine each critical part of a vehicle.
• Inspect hoses, belts, plugs, fuel systems, brakes, and other potentially troublesome parts.
• Use power tools, including pneumatic wrenches, to remove bolts.
• Use machine tools, such as grinding machines and lathes, to rebuild brakes.
• Use common hand tools, including screwdrivers, wrenches, and pliers, to work on small parts.
• Write vehicle damage repair estimates.
