About The Position

PHOENIX Retail, LLC operates the Express and Bonobos brands. Express is a multichannel apparel brand focused on modern, confident, and effortless style, with retail and outlet stores, an online store, and a mobile app. The Assistant Manager role is based at the Short Pump Town Center store.

The Assistant Manager assists the Store Manager with store operations, recruiting, team management and training, sales functions, productivity, company-policy compliance, and delivering a strong in-store customer experience. The position helps develop and retain talent, execute plans to achieve performance goals, oversee daily operations and merchandise flow, and lead associates in delivering customer service and company initiatives.

Requirements

• High school education or equivalent.
• One to three years of relevant job experience is listed under required experience and qualifications.
• At least two years of relevant experience is listed under critical skills and attributes.
• Proficiency with technology, including iPads and registers.
• Strong customer-service skills.
• Meet defined availability criteria, including nights, weekends, and non-business hours.
• Meet the physical requirements of the role.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing, inspiring, and retaining top talent.
• Maintain a positive work environment and encourage strong store morale, teamwork, and a one-team mentality.
• Coach, teach, and train Sales Associates; partner with the Store Manager to identify high-performing associates and support their development.
• May participate in Sales Associate interviews and provide feedback to the Store Manager.
• Support the Store Manager’s analysis of the business and execute and communicate action plans to optimize results and operational execution.
• Assist in overseeing all aspects of daily store operations and ensure sales-floor coverage meets customer expectations.
• Oversee merchandise flow, including shipment, replenishment, and omnichannel operations.
• Maintain adherence to company policies and help ensure the safety of associates and customers.
• Manage execution of the store strategy to achieve performance goals and optimize sales and operations opportunities.
• Lead associates in consistently executing merchandising strategies, operations, loyalty programs, and other company initiatives.
• Support a store environment focused on delivering a great in-store experience and lead by example in proactive customer engagement.
• Greet and assist customers, share information about products, promotions, and loyalty programs, and resolve customer complaints.
• Act as the customer experience leader, be accountable for customer-experience results, and create action plans to improve performance.
• Create a positive in-store experience by maintaining visual standards.
• Perform other essential functions as directed by a supervisor.
