About The Position

The Assistant Manager helps operate Par Mar Stores on a day-to-day basis and supports the Store Manager in ensuring each shift runs smoothly. The role also assists with local store marketing to help achieve sales and profit goals and supports team members through performance and training initiatives. The Assistant Manager provides leadership to the store and its employees, assists management with successful store operations, and supports efforts to generate sales and profit growth efficiently and effectively. The position requires customer service and communication skills, familiarity with food handling and safety guidelines, and compliance with company policies and procedures.

Requirements

Preferably at least one year of retail experience.
Strong people-oriented leadership skills.
Excellent communication skills.
Customer service skills.
Valid state driver’s license and an insured vehicle.
Prior knowledge of food handling and safety guidelines.
Ability to traverse all parts of the store quickly.
Ability to stand for prolonged periods on a hard-surfaced floor.
Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 40 pounds at a time.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous retail management experience preferred.
