About The Position

The Assistant Store Manager supports daily store operations, team leadership, and staffing efforts in partnership with the Store Manager. The role helps drive sales performance, maintain operational excellence, and support the hiring, onboarding, and development of store associates. The Assistant Store Manager helps ensure that sales goals, customer experience standards, and operational expectations are met; monitors sales activity and guides associates in customer service; assists with inventory control, inventory transactions, and shrink prevention; and ensures compliance with company policies and standards. The role also supports recruiting, interviews, onboarding, training, staffing levels, retention, and associate coaching. In addition, the position helps maintain a safe, organized, customer-focused store and supports consistent merchandising, operational, visual, and loss-prevention standards. Other duties may be assigned to support store operations and business needs.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required.
2–4 years of experience as an Assistant Manager or in a similar retail leadership role.
Strong communication, organizational, and people leadership skills.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
Ability to perform basic math calculations, including percentages.

Nice To Haves

3–5 years of overall retail experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Supervise and support associates in sales, inventory, cash handling, and customer service.
Assist the Store Manager with recruiting and hiring, including candidate screening, interviews, onboarding, and training support.
Support recruiting and employee retention to help maintain appropriate staffing levels.
Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and performance support to associates.
Maintain a safe, organized, and customer-focused store environment.
Reinforce adherence to company policies, procedures, and loss prevention standards.
Support consistent execution of merchandising, operational, and visual standards.
Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned to support store operations and business needs.
