About The Position

The Assistant Manager drives store sales and profitability by leading leaders and associates to deliver excellent customer service, achieve sales and key metric goals, and maintain operational excellence. The role develops associates in selling techniques, inbound and outbound deliveries, inventory management, and maintaining an attractive store environment. The Assistant Manager collaborates with other store leaders to optimize team performance and create memorable shopping experiences that build customer loyalty and satisfaction. This is an exempt position with monthly bonus eligibility.

Requirements

At least 3 years of retail leadership experience and a dedication to excellent customer experiences.
Ability to use analytics, experience, and judgment to make timely and effective business, people, and profitability decisions.
Ability to develop others through mentorship, effective communication, and side-by-side coaching.
Self-directed and able to work with minimal supervision in a deadline-driven environment.
Excellent communication skills.
Comfort with technology, including smartphones, tablet computers, and Windows-based operating systems.
Availability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Ability to regularly move around all store areas and remain accessible to customers.
Ability to bend, reach, stretch for products, and lift, carry, and move at least 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

Demonstrate ownership, accountability, and initiative in achieving store objectives and key metrics.
Inspire and motivate the team to deliver positive customer experiences and drive sales through relationship-building, personalized service and product recommendations, and a visually appealing sales floor.
Lead back-of-house operations, including receiving and processing deliveries, preparing products for the sales floor, processing damages, completing outbound shipments, and supporting store fulfillment.
Coordinate the organization and maintenance of equipment, devices, communication boards, supplies, signage, fixtures, and other tools.
Direct and support front-of-house operations, including product placement, floor sets, replenishment, facilities maintenance, pricing, promotional sets, audits, and customer service.
Participate in weekly leadership workload planning meetings and ensure selling, merchandising, and operations tasks are prepared, planned, and scheduled in alignment with company priorities and processes.
Use company systems, planning tools, and reports to forecast receipts and labor needs, and align associate schedules with business needs and traffic plans.
Build team knowledge of selling, merchandising, operations, and omni processes and procedures, and ensure associates are trained to execute consistently and effectively.
Model excellence, teamwork, and results-oriented behaviors; communicate clear team priorities and expectations.
Review associate performance, conduct coaching conversations, and teach and develop associates to improve individual and store results.
Drive team retention and engagement by recognizing contributions, celebrating achievements, and promoting activities.
Foster a positive store culture in which team members understand their role in store goals and feel valued and included.
Support timely recruitment and hiring, conduct interviews, and facilitate career development conversations to build a pipeline of store talent.
Oversee associate onboarding and ensure structured onboarding is completed.
Manage shortage control and inventory accuracy, and ensure compliance with asset protection, product protection, safety, and security standards.
