The Assistant Manager is responsible for everything that happens during the shift, including staffing, paperwork, cost and cash controls, inventory and food management, customer relations, scheduling, store cleanliness, marketing, and profitability. The manager is expected to set an example, follow all company policies and procedures, and expect the same from the crew. The role also includes general store team-member duties such as operating equipment, stocking ingredients, preparing products, processing telephone orders, taking inventory, completing paperwork, and cleaning equipment and the facility. On-the-job orientation and training are provided. The job description also includes delivery-specific duties and qualifications: delivering products by car to customers, distributing flyers and door hangers, and navigating delivery locations. Delivery requires a valid driver's license and access to an insured vehicle that can be used for work. The position involves working in a restaurant environment with changing temperatures, food odors, cornmeal dust, hot surfaces and tools, sharp edges, moving mechanical parts, and cramped spaces. Physical tasks include prolonged standing, walking, lifting and carrying supplies, pushing or pulling trays, occasional stair or ladder use, bending, crouching, reaching, and frequent hand and arm movements.
