The Assistant Manager is responsible for everything that happens during their shift, including cost, inventory, and cash controls and customer relations. The manager sets an example for the crew, follows all policies and procedures, and expects the same from team members. The role also involves staffing, paperwork, food management, scheduling, maintaining store standards and cleanliness, marketing, profitability, and customer service. Assistant managers may perform any store-team-member duties as needed, including operating equipment, stocking ingredients, preparing products, handling telephone orders, taking inventory, and cleaning the equipment and facility. Orientation and training are provided on the job. This position is described as part-time; scheduled hours depend on the employee’s availability and the store’s needs. Employees may have the opportunity to work toward full-time hours if the store can accommodate them and they complete training, reliably work shifts, and communicate their needs to the manager. In Washington, assistant wages range from $16.66 to $18.97, with raises tied to completed training evaluations. Monthly bonuses may be offered if criteria and responsibilities are met, but are not guaranteed. Medical, dental, and vision insurance are available to employees who have worked at least one year and average at least 32 hours per week. Washington State sick-pay requirements are followed.
