DQ Assistant Manager
About The Position
The Assistant Manager serves as an ambassador of the Dairy Queen brand, welcoming fans and delivering timely, quality, fan-first service. The role helps ensure restaurant operations meet Dairy Queen brand standards, including inventory and cash controls, and incorporates PRIDE systems and routines into daily operations so scheduled shifts are set up for success. Working with the General Manager, the Assistant Manager helps build a skilled and productive team through hiring, training, coaching, and developing Shift Leads and Crew Members. The role contributes to restaurant sales and profitability, supports a positive, safe, clean, and inviting environment, resolves fan concerns using Dairy Queen service recovery standards, and may assist with assigned local store marketing activities. Other duties may be assigned by management.
Responsibilities
- Represent the Dairy Queen brand professionally and enthusiastically welcome fans.
- Exceed fan expectations by delivering timely, quality, fan-first service.
- Meet or exceed Dairy Queen brand standards, including standards for inventory and cash controls.
- Incorporate PRIDE systems and routines into day-to-day restaurant operations and set each scheduled shift up for success.
- Respond to issues affecting the restaurant’s profit and loss to optimize sales and profit.
- Assist the General Manager with hiring, training, coaching, and developing Shift Leads and Crew Members.
- Create and maintain a positive, safe, clean, and inviting environment for fans and team members.
- Resolve fan concerns calmly and follow Dairy Queen service recovery standards.
- Maintain cooperative and harmonious working relationships with management and team members.
- May assist the General Manager with assigned local store marketing activities and projects, including public and community relations, evaluating local competitors’ store marketing, and identifying and tracking changing consumer demands.

- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
