DQ General Manager
About The Position
The General Manager serves as an ambassador of the Dairy Queen brand and leads restaurant operations with a focus on fan-first service, sales and profitability, brand standards, team development, and food safety. The role works with the owner to develop the restaurant’s business plan and manages profit and loss to optimize sales and profit. The General Manager hires, trains, coaches, and develops management and hourly team members; maintains a positive, safe, clean, and inviting environment; and ensures that PRIDE systems and routines are followed in daily operations. The role also builds customer loyalty and sales through local, regional, and national marketing activities, addresses fan concerns according to service recovery standards, and maintains cooperative working relationships with the team.
Responsibilities
- Represent the Dairy Queen brand professionally and welcome fans enthusiastically.
- Exceed fan expectations by delivering timely, quality, fan-first service.
- Work with the owner to develop the restaurant’s business plan and manage profit and loss to optimize sales and profit.
- Meet or exceed Dairy Queen brand standards and maintain competency in inventory and cash controls.
- Hire, train, coach, and develop store management and hourly crew members.
- Create and maintain a positive, safe, clean, and inviting environment for fans and team members.
- Make food safety the top training priority and model and enforce safe food-handling practices.
- Incorporate PRIDE systems and routines into daily restaurant operations and prepare scheduled shifts for success.
- Resolve fan concerns calmly and follow Dairy Queen service recovery standards.
- Maintain cooperative, harmonious working relationships with management and team members.
- Attract new fans and increase sales through marketing promotions and activities, advertising, public and community relations, competitor marketing evaluation, assessment of program results, and tracking changing consumer demands.

- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
