About The Position

Big Blue Swim School is hiring a full-time Assistant Manager for its Fairless Hills location. The Assistant Manager runs the pool-deck shift and leads a team of 10 to 20 swim instructors, working alongside the General Manager and learning how the school operates. The role offers a potential path to General Manager as new locations open. No aquatics experience is required; paid training is provided.

The position combines team leadership, family service, and facility operations. The Assistant Manager plans class coverage, manages transitions between lessons, coaches and trains instructors, communicates with families, supports enrollment, and oversees cleanliness, water quality, pool equipment operations, maintenance, and safety procedures.

The schedule includes weekday afternoons and evenings, with the school open until 8 PM, as well as weekend mornings. Most work takes place on a warm, humid indoor pool deck, with wet conditions, possible exposure to pool chemicals, occasional light lifting, and a lively, sometimes loud environment. The position is located at 524 Lincoln Highway in Fairless Hills, Pennsylvania.

Requirements

• Supervisory, team lead, or management experience in a fast-paced, customer-facing setting.
• Enjoy working with children and their parents.
• Communicate clearly and warmly.
• Stay calm and solve problems when the environment gets busy.
• Be available for weekday afternoons and evenings and weekend mornings; weekends are required.

Responsibilities

• Run shifts on the pool deck, including planning class coverage and managing transitions between lessons so classes start on time.
• Coach each swim instructor in monthly one-on-one meetings.
• Train new instructors to Big Blue teaching standards.
• Lead bi-weekly team trainings on safety, teaching technique, and customer service.
• Greet parents on deck and keep them updated on their swimmer's progress.
• Respond to family questions and concerns.
• Help the front desk convert trial lessons into weekly enrollments.
• Keep the pool, deck, and lobby clean and welcoming.
• Oversee water quality, pump room operations, and routine pool maintenance.
• Ensure team members follow safety procedures and keep their certifications current.
