About The Position

Citi Trends is an off-price value retailer of apparel, accessories, and home trends. The Assistant Store Manager supports daily store operations, team leadership, and staffing efforts in partnership with the Store Manager. The role helps drive sales performance, maintain operational excellence, and support the hiring, onboarding, and development of store associates. The Assistant Store Manager supports sales goals, customer experience standards, and operational expectations; guides associates in delivering customer service; assists with inventory and shrink prevention; and ensures compliance with company policies and standards. The role also supervises and supports associates, assists with recruiting and onboarding, helps maintain staffing levels, and provides coaching and performance support. The position helps maintain a safe, organized, customer-focused store and supports consistent execution of merchandising, operational, visual, and loss prevention standards. Additional duties may be assigned to support store operations and business needs.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
2–4 years of experience as an Assistant Manager or in a similar retail leadership role.
Strong communication, organizational, and people leadership skills.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
Ability to perform basic math calculations, including percentages.

Nice To Haves

3–5 years of overall retail experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Support daily store operations to meet sales goals, customer experience standards, and operational expectations.
Monitor sales activity and guide associates in delivering excellent customer service.
Assist with inventory control, inventory transactions, and shrink prevention.
Ensure compliance with Citi Trends policies, procedures, and operational standards.
Supervise and support associates in sales, inventory, cash handling, and customer service.
Assist the Store Manager with recruiting and hiring, including candidate screening, interviews, onboarding, and training support.
Support recruiting and employee retention efforts to help maintain appropriate staffing levels.
Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and performance support to associates.
Maintain a safe, organized, and customer-focused store environment.
Reinforce company policies, procedures, and loss prevention standards.
Support consistent execution of merchandising, operational, and visual standards.
Perform additional duties as assigned to support store operations and business needs.
