About The Position

The Assistant Manager operates equipment, stocks and prepares ingredients, receives and processes telephone orders, takes inventory, completes paperwork, and cleans equipment and the facility. The role also delivers products by car to customers and distributes flyers and door hangers. Training and orientation are provided on the job. The position requires open availability, a valid driver’s license with a safe driving record that meets company standards, access to an insured vehicle for deliveries, and passing a background check. The work involves directing activities, training and leading, performing repetitive tasks, working independently and with others, meeting quality-control standards, and making judgments and decisions. Duties include frequent standing and reaching, walking short distances, handling ingredients and supplies, and occasional climbing, crouching, bending, and paperwork at a desk. Delivery duties may involve driving, carrying items, navigating adverse weather and terrain, and climbing stairs, including five or more flights. The environment may include extreme temperatures, food odors, cornmeal dust, cramped spaces, hot surfaces and tools, sharp edges, and moving mechanical parts.

Requirements

Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record meeting company standards.
Access to an insured vehicle that can be used for delivery.
Must pass a background check.

Ability to comprehend and give correct written instructions and communicate verbally with customers and co-workers in person and by telephone.
Ability to train and lead.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide accurately and quickly, and make correct monetary change.
Verbal, writing, and telephone skills to take and process orders.
Motor coordination to make rapid, precise movements; ability to enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen.
Navigational skills to read a map and locate addresses within the designated delivery area.
Ability to navigate adverse terrain, including multi-story buildings, private homes, and other delivery sites, while carrying products.
Ability to direct activities, perform repetitive tasks, work independently and with others, work under stress, meet strict quality-control standards, deal with people, analyze and compile data, and make judgments and decisions.
Ability to handle physical duties including lifting deliveries weighing up to 50 pounds, carrying products, pushing or pulling trays on dollies, and occasional climbing, bending, crouching, and reaching.
