About The Position

The Assistant Manager for Kid's Apparel & Shoes supports the department manager in achieving department volume and productivity goals by developing and executing a business plan. The role recruits, hires, trains, develops, and motivates team members, and helps ensure they deliver outstanding customer service through teaching, coaching, and leading by example. The Assistant Manager actively sells on the floor to build long-lasting customer relationships and loyalty. The role also works with the department manager to maintain merchandising and presentation standards and to support accurate inventory management and shrinkage goals. The position is commission-based and may be eligible for performance-based incentives or bonuses.

Requirements

A track record of successful results, such as strong productivity or personal trade.
Competitive drive and entrepreneurial confidence to succeed in a commission-based environment.
Ability to set and achieve sales goals.
Experience developing and maintaining productive relationships with department and store managers, divisional retail merchandisers, and other leaders.
Strong organizational and follow-through skills.
