About The Position

The Assistant General Manager assists with oversight of gym operations to provide an exceptional “Judgement Free” member experience and support the club’s financial success. The role supports the Club Manager and helps lead staff, member services, facility upkeep, scheduling, and administrative activities. The position is described as full time, with an expected schedule of five days per week and approximately 40 to 45 hours, depending on hourly or salary status. Compensation is $17.00 per hour.

Requirements

Superior customer service skills, preferably in the fitness industry.
Solid supervisory, diplomacy, and listening skills.
Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Suite.
Strong problem-resolution skills.
Current CPR certification is required; certification may be completed upon hire.
High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
Must be at least 18 years old.
Ability to work independently and alone during shifts when business needs require.
Ability to work five days per week and approximately 40 to 45 hours, depending on hourly or salary status.

Nice To Haves

Experience as a Member Service Representative at Planet Fitness is preferred but not required.
Hard-working, enthusiastic, and energetic attitude.

Responsibilities

Assist in recruiting, hiring, training, and developing Member Service Representatives, Trainers, and Custodians.
Help maintain a welcoming atmosphere for members, prospective members, and guests, and ensure staff follow customer service guidelines.
Assist with staff management and provide backup support to the Club Manager as needed.
Assist with scheduling and supervising staff.
Oversee member service and ensure staff provide a superior customer experience.
Help resolve or escalate employee issues and concerns.
Perform front-desk activities, including answering phones, assisting callers, signing up new members, giving tours to prospective members, and handling member requests, issues, and questions.
Help oversee facility cleanliness and maintenance.
Assist with ordering supplies within the club’s budget requirements.
Assist with tracking weekly, monthly, and annual statistics and reports.
Provide backup support for absent employees.
