About The Position
The Assistant General Manager assists with overseeing gym operations to provide an exceptional “Judgement Free” member experience and help ensure the club is financially successful. This leadership role supports the Club Manager and assists with staff management, member service, facility upkeep, supply ordering, and reporting. The expected schedule is five days per week, approximately 40–45 hours depending on hourly or salary status.
Requirements
- Superior customer service skills, preferably in the fitness industry.
- Solid supervisory, diplomacy, and listening skills.
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Suite.
- Strong problem-resolution skills.
- Current CPR certification is required; certification may be completed upon hire.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Ability to work independently and alone during shifts when business needs require.
Nice To Haves
- Experience working as a Member Service Representative at Planet Fitness is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Assist in recruiting, hiring, training, and developing Member Service Representatives, Trainers, and Custodians.
- Help maintain a welcoming atmosphere and ensure staff follows customer service guidelines.
- Assist with staff management and provide backup support to the Club Manager as needed.
- Assist in scheduling and supervising staff.
- Oversee member service and ensure staff provides a superior customer experience.
- Help resolve or escalate employee issues and concerns.
- Perform front-desk activities, including answering phones and assisting callers.
- Sign up new members and take prospective members on tours.
- Facilitate member requests, issues, and questions.
- Help oversee facility cleanliness and maintenance.
- Assist with ordering supplies within the club’s budget.
- Assist in tracking weekly, monthly, and annual statistics and reports.
- Provide backup support for absent employees.
