About The Position

This role involves driving and implementing the business plan for the area of responsibility to achieve facility goals in production, quality, safety, and operational improvements. The position requires forecasting and managing staffing, workload, and performance. It also includes managing financial aspects, ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards, and resolving associate, customer, and supplier concerns. The role serves as a community liaison and involves supervising and developing associates and leaders, fostering a culture of belonging, and attracting and retaining talent. The Assistant General Manager is expected to act with integrity, put the customer first, and strive for excellence by driving continuous improvement and adopting new technologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in business or a related field (e.g., Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Financial Management, Production/Operations Management).
  • 2 years experience in a senior management role within an operations/distribution/logistics environment, supervising, evaluating, mentoring, and developing managers/supervisors; managing workload; and participating in the hiring and promotion of employees facility-wide.
  • OR 2 years experience as a Walmart Logistics Operations Manager including supervising, evaluating, mentoring, and developing associates; managing associate workload; and participating in the hiring and promotion of associates.
  • OR 4 years experience in a senior management role in an operations/distribution/logistics/retail environment, supervising, evaluating, mentoring, and developing managers/supervisors; managing workload; and participating in the hiring and promotion of employees facility-wide.
  • Associates will be required to attend and successfully complete all job-required trainings and assessments.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with or to individuals or groups verbally and/or in writing.
  • Drive, develop, and implement the business plan for area of responsibility to achieve facility goals.
  • Forecast and follow up on staffing, workload, and performance results.
  • Manage assigned financial aspects by monitoring and tracking expenses compared to budget, monitoring asset utilization, and preparing/reviewing/analyzing business reports.
  • Monitor and ensure facility-wide compliance with Logistics and company quality and safety standards, policies, procedures, and directives.
  • Investigate and ensure associate, customer, and supplier concerns are resolved.
  • Serve as a community liaison by participating in local and community organizations and charitable activities.
  • Supervise and manage associates and leaders in area of responsibility by giving direction, communicating goals, monitoring performance, and providing feedback.
  • Identify training and development needs and provide opportunities for learning and growth.
  • Teach and support Logistics and company policies and procedures.
  • Participate in the hiring, promotion, coaching, teaching, and evaluation of associates facility-wide.
