Assistant General Manager
About The Position
The Assistant General Manager provides overall leadership, supervision, and direction on strategic initiatives and operating standards to positively impact business results for selected front-of-house and back-of-house areas, under the guidance of the General Manager. The role is in a fast-paced restaurant and entertainment environment and focuses on leading teams, improving guest experiences, and overseeing both day-to-day details and broader business results. The job description notes that the role may involve handling 100K days, walking five miles per shift, and working an average of 50-hour work weeks.
Requirements
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Have at least 5 years of restaurant or hospitality experience.
- Be proficient in managing cost of goods sold and labor.
- Have strong business acumen.
- Be able to lead a team to create a memorable guest experience.
- Be able to work weekends, nights, and holidays.
- Be willing to work in a fast-paced, noisy environment with distracting conditions.
Responsibilities
- Promote positive employee relations through effective delegation of managerial duties and fostering high staff morale.
- Analyze financial reports and develop action plans to grow revenue and control costs to meet or exceed annual budgets.
- Ensure staff training programs are executed.
- Ensure staffing levels and management coverage are appropriate to meet business needs and maximize the customer experience.
- Deliver a strong guest experience through food, drinks, and games.
- Maintain a safe and secure environment for guests and staff.
- Continuously improve operational execution through attention to detail and adherence to operating standards and procedures.
