About The Position

This role involves driving and developing the business plan for a specific area to achieve facility goals in production, quality, safety, and operational improvements. The position requires forecasting and managing staffing, workload, and performance, as well as overseeing financial aspects like expenses, asset utilization, and business reports. A key responsibility is ensuring compliance with logistics and company quality and safety standards. The role also includes serving as a community liaison, participating in local organizations and events, and championing company programs. The Assistant General Manager will supervise and manage associates and leaders, providing direction, feedback, training, and development opportunities, while upholding company policies and procedures. This includes participating in hiring, promotion, coaching, teaching, and evaluating associates. The role emphasizes building high-performing teams, fostering a culture of belonging, attracting and retaining talent, and empowering associates. It requires acting with integrity, modeling company values, and holding oneself and others accountable. The position focuses on serving customers by delivering results, putting the customer first, and adapting to their shopping behaviors. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in business or a related field (e.g., Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Financial Management, Production/Operations Management).
  • 2 years experience in a senior management role within an operations/distribution/logistics environment, supervising, evaluating, mentoring, and developing managers/supervisors; managing workload; and participating in the hiring and promotion of employees facility-wide.
  • OR 2 years experience as a Walmart Logistics Operations Manager including supervising, evaluating, mentoring, and developing associates; managing associate workload; and participating in the hiring and promotion of associates.
  • OR 4 years experience in a senior management role in an operations/distribution/logistics/retail environment, supervising, evaluating, mentoring, and developing managers/supervisors; managing workload; and participating in the hiring and promotion of employees facility-wide.
  • Associates will be required to attend and successfully complete all job-required trainings and assessments (for example, Academy trainings, Open Door trainings, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Drive, develop, and implement the business plan for area of responsibility to achieve facility goals (production, quality, safety, operational improvements).
  • Forecast and follow up on staffing, workload, and performance results to meet business demands.
  • Manage assigned financial aspects by monitoring and tracking expenses compared to budget, monitoring asset utilization, and preparing/reviewing/analyzing business reports.
  • Monitor and ensure facility-wide compliance with Logistics and company quality and safety standards, policies, procedures, and directives.
  • Investigate and ensure associate, customer, and supplier concerns are resolved.
  • Serve as a community liaison by participating in local and community organizations and charitable activities, championing company-sponsored programs and events.
  • Supervise and manage associates and leaders in area of responsibility by giving direction, communicating goals, monitoring performance, providing feedback, identifying training and development needs, and providing opportunities for learning and growth.
  • Teach and support Logistics and company policies and procedures.
  • Participate in the hiring, promotion, coaching, teaching, and evaluation of associates facility-wide.
