About The Position

The Assistant General Manager assists the General Manager with leadership, guidance, and support for the hotel team while promoting Buffalo Lodging Associates’ values of Excellence, Passion, Integrity, and Inclusion. The role oversees hotel operations in the General Manager’s absence and manages front office operations, including supervision of front desk and food and beverage staff. The Assistant General Manager helps maintain strong guest service scores, resolve guest concerns, support a positive working environment, and complete administrative tasks such as reporting, inventories, and accounting processes.

Requirements

Two years of related management experience and hotel brand knowledge.
Extensive experience with rooms, housekeeping, and food and beverage.
Working knowledge of hotel operations, including security and safety programs, personnel (HR) relations, quality assurance programs, and long-range planning.
Bachelor’s degree in hotel management, business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Expertise in standard hotel management systems.
Hands-on leadership.
Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

Oversee facility operations in the General Manager’s absence, including guest services, housekeeping, maintenance, sales, food and beverage, and human resources.
Manage front office operations and directly supervise front desk and food and beverage staff.
Resolve guest concerns while maintaining high franchise Guest Service scores.
Foster a positive, cooperative work environment between staff and management.
Interview, hire, train, appraise, reward, and coach employees; plan, assign, and direct work; address complaints and resolve concerns.
Complete administrative tasks, including reporting, inventories, and accounting processes.
