About The Position

The Assistant General Manager will lead daily opening and closing duties, manage the floor, and ensure the restaurant is prepared to welcome guests. This role is responsible for maintaining standards of practice, cleanliness, and overall care of the restaurant. The Assistant General Manager will report directly to the General Manager and lead in adherence to company standards.

Requirements

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to work on your feet for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to open and close including weekends and any holidays the restaurant is open.
  • 3+ years of experience.
  • Ability to commute/relocate to Austin, TX 78704.
  • TABC Certification
  • Food Handler’s Certification

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily opening and closing duties.
  • Manage the floor and ensure the restaurant is prepared to welcome guests.
  • Maintain standards of practice, cleanliness, and overall care of the restaurant.
  • Create floor charts and assign sections.
  • Manage team member productivity.
  • Assign deep cleaning tasks.
  • Balance workflow and the number of seats per team member.
  • Ensure the entire restaurant is detailed, stocked, and ready for service at all times.
  • Make cuts and assign breaks as needed.
  • Uphold the standards and practices of Juliet Italian Kitchen.
  • Support and lead servers, server assistants, and bar staff.
  • Delegate priorities to team members as needed.
  • Ensure food is up to standards, garnished, and served properly.
  • Ensure all drinks and wines are served correctly.
  • Complete and review all checklists for all positions.
  • Help ensure all BEOs are accounted for and executed correctly.
  • Perform Close of Day and ensure deposit is accurate.
  • Handle all cash and ensure everything balances.
  • Ensure everyone is clocked in and out correctly.
  • Assign counts and 86s to items in Toast.
  • Make Change Orders.
  • Take Deposits and Change Orders to the bank when needed.
  • Make purchases such as glassware, silverware, flatware, etc.
  • Keep an inventory of paper goods and products.
  • Maintain relationships with Vendors.
  • Act as a restaurant key-holder.
  • Hire and On-Board team members into R365/Toast.
  • Schedule Servers, Bartenders, Hosts, and Bussers according to restaurant needs.
  • Keep track of time off requests and team member availabilities.
  • Write up or issue verbal warnings for team members as needed.
  • Terminate team members when necessary.
  • Maintain Staffing Pars for all FOH team members.
  • Interview potential new hires.
  • Work with Trainers on maintaining training materials.
  • Perform reviews with team members after 60 days of employment.
  • Perform reviews with team members annually.
  • Sign for Deliveries when appropriate.
  • Attend weekly manager meetings.
  • Maintain organization of paper products, checklists, and training files.
  • Put away paper orders and keep the office clear of boxes.
  • Place orders for Vendors.
