About The Position

The Assistant General Manager supports club operations and helps maintain Equinox brand standards. In partnership with the General Manager, this role oversees Front Desk, Maintenance, and Kids’ Club departments; supports ancillary departments and sales; and helps ensure strong customer service, cleanliness, safety, and financial performance. The position requires flexibility to work schedules based on business needs and openness to reassignment to other locations. Other duties may be assigned as needed to ensure proper department operations.

Requirements

• Proven leadership ability.
• 1–3 years of management experience in an operational management industry.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Effective time management and follow-up skills.
• Financial management experience.
• Ability to lift 25 pounds.
• Ability to remain mobile throughout the facility all day.
• Adherence to the current transfer policy in the P&C employee handbook.
• Current good standing with the brand, with no written RODs or above.

Nice To Haves

• High-touch customer service experience.
• Bachelor’s degree.

Responsibilities

• Influence and inspire a dynamic workforce.
• Interview, hire, train, and manage the Front Desk, Maintenance, and Kids’ Club departments to meet Equinox brand standards.
• Help departments develop schedules and ensure adherence to payroll budgets.
• Complete staff performance evaluations monthly and annually.
• Follow monthly ordering timelines and supply budgets.
• Ensure a high level of customer service to club members.
• Partner with the General Manager to support ancillary departments and sales.
• Stay aware of monthly departmental goals and projections.
• Ensure club cleanliness meets Equinox standards.
• Ensure proper Risk Management and Loss Prevention procedures are followed, and monitor club safety and security.
• Facilitate other projects or responsibilities delegated by the General Manager.
• Work flexible schedules according to business needs and remain open to location reassignment.
