About The Position

The Assistant General Manager - Sales supports the General Manager in running a smooth, welcoming, and enrollment-driven swim school. This people-first role connects with families by phone and in person, maintains high standards for daily operations, and coaches the Front Desk team in sales and customer service. The Assistant General Manager serves as Manager on Duty during assigned shifts, taking responsibility for the full operation of the school and supporting aquatics, the front desk, and facilities wherever needed. The role also focuses on family experience, enrollment growth and retention, staff coaching, community events, and local partnerships.

Requirements

1–2 years in a customer service, sales, or team support role.
Natural communicator, comfortable speaking with families by phone and in person.
Comfortable learning new software; training on the school's systems is provided.
Organized, dependable, and proactive about following through.
Must obtain a Lifeguard Certification through Goldfish Swim School if not already certified.
Must be available for evening and weekend shifts.

Responsibilities

Greet every member and family warmly upon arrival and departure.
Keep the facility clean, organized, and ready for customers.
Oversee the first-day swimmer process, including wristbands, tours, lane walks, and follow-up.
Own daily enrollment goals by calling, texting, and following up with leads, and hold the Front Desk team accountable to the same standard.
Track lead pipeline, conversion rates, and enrollment trends, and provide actionable insights and recommendations to the General Manager.
Handle common objections and coach the Front Desk team to handle them confidently.
Coach Front Desk staff through side-by-side support, regular feedback, and formal performance evaluations.
Issue corrective action when needed and make hiring recommendations to the General Manager.
Plan monthly community events and build local partnerships.
Serve as Manager on Duty during assigned shifts, oversee the full operation of the school, support aquatics, front desk, and facilities, and ensure areas meet the Goldfish standard.
