About The Position

Friends Homes is seeking an experienced and service-minded Assistant Director of Environmental Services to help lead housekeeping and laundry operations across our Continuing Care Retirement Community. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on leader who understands the importance of cleanliness, infection prevention, hospitality, and teamwork in a senior living and healthcare environment. In this role, you will help ensure residents, families, visitors, and team members experience a community that is clean, safe, sanitary, and welcoming. You will support Environmental Services operations across Independent Living, Assisted Living, Memory Care, Skilled Nursing, rehabilitation areas, common spaces, and healthcare laundry services. Environmental Services plays a vital role in resident-centered care by protecting health, supporting dignity, promoting comfort, and creating a positive experience throughout the community. As Assistant Director of EVS, you will help oversee daily operations while supporting regulatory readiness, quality standards, infection prevention, and exceptional service.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of supervisory experience in Environmental Services, Housekeeping, or Laundry Operations within a healthcare, long-term care, hospital, or senior living environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Administration, Hospitality, Environmental Services, or a related field.
  • Experience in a Continuing Care Retirement Community, Skilled Nursing Facility, or hospital environment.
  • EVS or Healthcare Housekeeping Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Direct, supervise, organize, and oversee housekeeping and laundry operations throughout the community
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and infection prevention in compliance with: OSHA, CDC, infection prevention practices, Healthcare and long-term care regulations
  • Ensure proper infection control and safe linen-handling procedures
  • Monitor laundry inventory, workflow, and turnaround times to ensure timely service for residents and the facility
  • Conduct inspections, quality assurance rounds, and regulatory preparedness activities for state surveys, infection control audits, life safety inspections, and other reviews
  • Provide strong hands on leadership
