About The Position

Join Dierbergs as an Assistant Deli/Seafood Manager in an entry-level management role focused on the smooth and efficient operation of the department. You will work with the Deli/Seafood Management Team to support quality, consistency, and profitability, while helping train, develop, and motivate Associates. The role also involves preparing and selling a range of foods, managing orders and inventory, maintaining food safety and sanitation, and providing friendly, knowledgeable customer service. The position offers opportunities to advance to Department Manager or store management.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of food-service experience, preferably in a supervisory capacity.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask, adapt, and perform varied tasks.
• Basic computer skills and ability to use an iPad for customer orders, order pickup, and training.
• Knowledge of proper food-handling and sanitation procedures.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and varying shifts.
• Ability to push and pull up to 20 lbs of force occasionally.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs occasionally and up to 20 lbs frequently.
• Ability to perform the stated physical activities, including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, squatting, handling, reaching, and finger manipulation.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Deli/Seafood Management Team to uphold quality, consistency, and profitability in food products.
• Oversee training, development, and motivation of Associates.
• Prepare and sell signature foods, rotisserie and smoked meats, sliced cheeses, and seafood.
• Manage ordering and inventory.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary department and follow proper food-handling procedures.
• Provide friendly and knowledgeable service to customers.
