About The Position

Emory Division of Hospital Medicine is hiring an Assistant Professor of Medicine for a night-shift inpatient Hospital Medicine faculty physician position. The role is based in person at an Emory University location; remote work is not an option, though Emory may change this status with notice. Professional service accounts for more than 75% of the position’s professional effort. Duties include examining patients admitted to the hospital, assessing their acuity and appropriate level of care, performing bedside procedures when needed and credentialed, consulting with specialty providers and requesting their consultations, and contacting outpatient primary care providers and teams to support continuity of care. The physician may work with trainees, including allied health professionals, on some months. Clinical scheduling follows internal Division policies and procedures and the physician’s clinical effort. The position also requires 1%–25% of professional effort in scholarship and 1%–25% in teaching. Scholarly activities may include manuscript authorship, research participation, abstract presentations, professional blogs, and other scholarly work. Teaching may include occasional lectures, small-group and bedside instruction, preceptorship, and mentorship. Dr. Daniel Hunt, MD, FACP, is the direct supervisor; the position ultimately reports to the Chair of the Department of Medicine.
