Physician - Nocturnist - Hospital Medicine
About The Position
Vituity is seeking a Hospital Medicine physician for a nocturnist role at O’Connor Hospital in San Jose, California. The physician will care for hospitalized patients at a 358-bed facility with a 22-bed open ICU and an annual volume of more than 68,500. Nocturnists see approximately 8–10 encounters per night. Procedures and ventilator management are not required; an in-house intensivist is available. Vituity’s physician-owned partnership offers autonomy and local control, financial transparency, peer support, and career development opportunities. Physicians participate in the partnership model from day one, including profit distributions, equity ownership, and K-1 tax advantages. The estimated annual base compensation is $275,000–$900,000, depending on site, specialty, clinical volume, schedule, and experience; total compensation including partnership income varies by site and may exceed the stated range.
Requirements
- Board eligible or board certified in Internal Medicine.

Responsibilities
- Provide hospital medicine care to hospitalized patients during nocturnist shifts.
- Manage an estimated 8–10 patient encounters per night.
- Work as part of an integrated healthcare team with Vituity-staffed Critical Care and Anesthesiology departments.
