About The Position

Better Together Behavioral Health is seeking an Assistant Clinical Director to partner with the Clinical Director in establishing and maintaining consistent clinical expectations across the organization. This role involves direct observation of staff-led sessions, providing feedback, reviewing treatment plans, auditing data collection systems, and monitoring clinical outcomes. The Assistant Clinical Director will also participate in case staffing, insurance reviews, and maintain communication with caregivers. Additionally, the role includes assisting in onboarding, mentoring, and supervising new BCBAs, providing clinical supervision, coordinating staff meetings and training, and guiding BCBAs through complex case conceptualization. The position also involves managing a caseload, conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, overseeing data collection, managing risk and crisis situations, conducting caregiver training, and collaborating with interdisciplinary providers. The Assistant Clinical Director will also work with the Operations Team on scheduling, documentation, and data accuracy, ensuring timely completion of administrative tasks and contributing to clinic-wide performance metrics and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

Master’s degree in Behavior Analysis or a related field.
Active Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification.
Current Texas Licensed Behavior Analyst (LBA) license.
Strong skills in data-based decision making, technical writing, and professional communication.
Ability to lift or support up to 50 pounds as needed.
Capacity to move effectively between seated, standing, and floor-based positions.
Ability to respond promptly and appropriately to manage behaviors, including implementing approved safety techniques.
Endurance for six to eight hour treatment and supervision sessions involving active engagement with clients.

Responsibilities

Partner with the Clinical Director to establish and maintain consistent clinical expectations across the organization.
Conduct direct observations of staff-led sessions and provide actionable feedback focused on quality improvement.
Review treatment plans, progress reports, and behavior intervention plans to ensure compliance with clinical best practices and payer guidelines.
Audit data collection systems for accuracy, reliability, and alignment with performance standards.
Monitor clinical outcomes and collaborate on strategies to improve treatment integrity and client progress.
Participate in case staffing, peer reviews, and clinical escalation meetings related to complex behavioral challenges.
Support insurance reviews, concurrent authorizations, and appeals processes as needed.
Maintain proactive communication with caregivers to promote engagement, transparency, and continuity of care.
Assist in onboarding, mentoring, and supervising new BCBAs to ensure alignment with organizational standards.
Provide ongoing clinical supervision to BCBAs and oversight for RBTs under their supervision.
Coordinate and lead regular staff meetings, clinical reviews, and professional development sessions.
Support RBT training and competency assessments, including refreshers and ongoing skill advancement.
Develop and implement targeted training agendas for clinical track RBTs and case managers in collaboration with the Clinical Director.
Guide BCBAs through complex case conceptualization, functional assessment interpretation, and treatment design.
Model effective leadership communication, compassionate care, and adherence to ethical standards.
Identify staff performance strengths and areas for growth, implementing individualized development or improvement plans as needed.
Maintain an appropriate caseload of approximately six full-time equivalent clients with minimum of 24 billable hours per week.
Conduct comprehensive assessments.
Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans with measurable goals for skill acquisition and behavior reduction.
Oversee data collection procedures to ensure high-quality program integrity and progress tracking.
Review risk and crisis management protocols and provide real-time leadership support for severe behavior situations.
Conduct caregiver training sessions both individually and in groups, and collaborate on treatment generalization goals across home and community settings.
Oversee transition and discharge processes to ensure appropriate goal completion and continuity of care.
Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary providers to coordinate comprehensive client care.
Work closely with the Operations Team to coordinate scheduling, documentation, and CentralReach data accuracy.
Ensure timely completion of authorizations, treatment plan updates, and progress notes in accordance with payer guidelines.
Collaborate with leadership to develop, track, and evaluate clinic-wide performance metrics and outcome measures.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, policies, and operational systems that promote effective clinical delivery.
