About The Position

The Department of Physics at the University of North Texas (UNT) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor level, with competitive startup, salary, and benefit packages. The candidate's research should be in the area of Biophysics (experimental). Candidates are expected to develop a vigorous and externally funded research program, teach effectively at the undergraduate and graduate levels, mentor student research, and provide service to the department, university and community. An offer of employment for this position will be made dependent upon available funding.

Requirements

Ph.D. in physics or a closely related discipline.
Demonstrate a commitment to teaching.
A minimum of one year of postdoctoral experience, or equivalent professional experience after the Ph.D.
Employees in this job may be responsible for conducting research on, working on, or having the ability to access critical organizational infrastructure and they must be able to maintain the security and integrity of the infrastructure related to this role.

Nice To Haves

Outstanding experimentalist within the broad area of biophysics, who can develop and lead both independent and collaborative research programs.
Research areas may include medical physics, biomaterials, or biophotonics.
Ideally, the candidate might bridge and complement our department's state-of-the-art physics-focused research with more direct experience and connections to human health and the associated funding sources.
Experience with HSI/MSIs and/or who speak Spanish, Vietnamese, American Sign Language, Chinese (Cantonese, Mandarin and other variations), Arabic, Tagalog, Farsi, French, or/and Yoruba.
