About The Position

The Asset Protection Supervisor is a lead officer on Burlington’s Asset Protection Team, responsible for executing and directing the proper implementation of the company’s Shortage Control and Safety programs. The role leads store asset protection efforts to protect the safety of customers and associates, merchandise, and the physical structure of the store. A visible security presence helps deter attempts to compromise store safety and security. The supervisor is expected to lead by example, maintaining professionalism and control in high-stress situations, and to support positive company results through the physical protection and security of Burlington customers, associates, merchandise, and property.

Requirements

Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Ability to occasionally lift up to 40 lbs.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience as a security guard, asset protection officer, or retail security associate is preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform and supervise store patrols and strategic monitoring to maintain a visible security presence for customers and associates.
Assist in recruiting and training new Shortage Control Associates.
Stay up to date on company Safety and Security standards and protocols.
Investigate incidents of theft as directed by the Asset Protection Manager.
Detect, report, and resolve matters relating to safety, inventory shortage, cash handling, and theft, while providing customer service according to company standards.
Supervise and conduct safety inspections and audits, accurately document results, and communicate potential or existing hazards to the key holder on duty.
Ensure physical security by controlling access for associates and visitors.
Monitor CCTV, if applicable.
Represent Burlington in court proceedings associated with Asset Protection apprehensions and investigations when necessary.
Develop relationships with local law enforcement.
