About The Position

The Asset Protection Coordinator is an hourly position that reports directly to the Market Asset Protection Manager. The role maintains and monitors asset protection, security, compliance, and safety functions within a facility. The Asset Protection team works to reduce shrink, maintain accurate inventory and compliance, and ensure a safe and secure environment for employees and customers. This is accomplished through administrative reviews of reports, sales-floor observation and education, and monitoring compliance with safety, inventory, and shrink directives. The position is uniform-required and includes time on the sales floor interacting with customers. It assists with training and development, investigations, inventory accuracy, physical security, merchandise protection, safety programs, and related reporting. Travel is not an essential function and, if requested, is expected to be less than 10%.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Demonstrated experience conducting criminal, internal, or related investigations.
Experience using physical security systems such as CCTV and EAS.
Experience conducting quality reviews or audits.
Ability to perform regular computer work, walk, stand, and lift up to 50 pounds; sitting is occasional.
Must possess or be able to obtain certifications and licenses required by applicable law.

Nice To Haves

Associate or bachelor's degree in criminal justice, security management, or a related field from an accredited institution.
Previous experience in security, asset protection, or safety, or a retail inventory background.
Current AHA First Aid / CPR / AED certification.

Responsibilities

Assist with training and continued development for Outfitters on shrink, safety, and security functions.
Cascade Asset Protection directives and initiatives to store leadership and other Outfitters as appropriate.
Provide customer service and interact with customers on the sales floor, including when a customer or Outfitter appears to need assistance or is acting suspiciously.
Identify root causes of shrink by analyzing cycle counts, trailer audits, known loss, vendor compliance opportunities, and exception reporting.
Review inventory adjustments for accountability and investigate potential causes of discrepancies; confirm that over- and short-shipments are investigated and resolved between the distribution center and store.
Encourage Outfitters and vendors to commit to asset protection programs.
Educate staff on removing merchandise protection tools and ensuring products are paid for at point of purchase; monitor and maintain physical security and merchandise protection standards.
Monitor facility property and parking areas to support a safe and secure environment for Outfitters, customers, and vendors.
Conduct known-loss investigations and review exception reports.
Assist with investigations into criminal activity, policy violations, illicit behavior, workplace accidents, workplace violence, and operational or nefarious loss.
Monitor criminal cases, appear in court, and testify when warranted.
Conduct information-gathering and integrity interviews when assigned or authorized.
Assist in investigating irregularities in firearms protocols related to compliance or process concerns.
Ensure asset protection and security systems are maintained and working appropriately.
Assist store leadership in promoting safety programs, supporting safe work procedures, and participating on the safety committee.
Prepare detailed and accurate reports in a timely manner.
Obtain and maintain certifications or licenses required by applicable law.
Perform other duties as assigned.
