About The Position

The Asset Protection Coordinator is an hourly position that reports directly to the Market Asset Protection Manager. The role maintains and monitors asset protection, security, compliance, and safety functions within a facility. The Asset Protection team works to reduce shrink, maintain accurate inventory and compliance, and ensure a safe and secure environment for employees and customers. This is accomplished through administrative report reviews, a sales-floor presence to observe and educate on best practices, and monitoring compliance with safety, inventory, and shrink directives. This is a uniform-required role that spends time on the sales floor and interacts with customers. The coordinator supports training and development, investigates inventory discrepancies and potential losses, monitors security systems and merchandise-protection practices, and assists with investigations and safety programs. The position exercises independent judgment within company policies and procedures; end results are reviewed by a supervisor.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Demonstrated experience conducting criminal, internal, or related investigations.
Experience using physical security systems such as CCTV and EAS.
Experience conducting quality reviews or audits.
Possess or be able to obtain certifications and licenses required by the applicable local jurisdiction.
Regularly perform computer work, walk, stand, and lift up to 50 pounds; occasionally sit.

Nice To Haves

Associate degree or bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, security management, or a related field from an accredited institution.
Previous experience in security, asset protection, and safety, or a retail inventory background.
Current AHA First Aid, CPR, and AED certification.

Responsibilities

Assist with training and continued development for Outfitters on shrink, safety, and security functions.
Cascade Asset Protection directives and initiatives to store leadership and other Outfitters as appropriate.
Provide customer service to customers or Outfitters who appear to need assistance or are acting suspiciously.
Identify root causes of shrink by analyzing cycle counts, trailer audits, known loss, vendor compliance opportunities, and exception reports.
Review inventory adjustments for appropriate accountability and investigate discrepancies; confirm overages and shortages are investigated and resolved between the distribution center and store.
Encourage Outfitters and vendors to commit to asset protection programs.
Educate on removal of merchandise-protection tools and payment at point of purchase; monitor and maintain physical security and merchandise-protection standards.
Monitor facility property and parking areas to support a safe and secure environment.
Conduct known-loss investigations and review exception reports.
Assist with investigations into criminal activity, policy violations, illicit behavior, workplace accidents or violence, and operational or nefarious loss.
Monitor criminal cases, appear in court, and testify when warranted.
Conduct information-gathering and integrity interviews when assigned or authorized.
Assist in investigating irregularities concerning firearms protocols, compliance, or processes.
Ensure asset-protection and security systems are maintained and working appropriately.
Assist store leadership in promoting safety programs, supporting safe work procedures, and participating on the safety committee.
Prepare detailed and accurate reports in a timely manner.
Obtain and maintain certifications or licenses required by applicable law.
Perform other duties as assigned.
