About The Position

The Asset Protection Coordinator is an hourly, uniform-required position that reports directly to the Market Asset Protection Manager. The role maintains and monitors asset protection, security, compliance, and safety functions within a facility. The Asset Protection team works to reduce shrink, maintain accurate inventory and compliance, and provide a safe and secure environment for employees and customers. This work includes reviewing reports, observing and educating on the sales floor, and monitoring compliance with safety, inventory, and shrink directives. The position interacts with customers and Outfitters on the sales floor and exercises independent judgment within company policies and procedures. Travel is not an essential function; if requested, it is less than 10%.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Demonstrated experience conducting criminal, internal, or related investigations.
Experience using physical security systems such as CCTV and EAS.
Experience conducting quality reviews or audits.
Ability to regularly perform computer work, walk, stand, and lift up to 50 pounds; sitting is occasional.
Ability to perform duties within company policies and procedures, analyze problems, conduct needs assessments, adapt broad guidelines, exercise independent judgment, and make recommendations affecting policies, procedures, and practices.
Must possess or be able to obtain certifications or licenses required by applicable law.

Nice To Haves

Associate or bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, or a related field from an accredited institution.
Previous experience in security, asset protection, and safety, or a retail inventory background.
Current AHA First Aid, CPR, and AED certification.

Responsibilities

Support training and continued development for Outfitters on shrink, safety, and security functions.
Communicate Asset Protection directives and initiatives to store leadership and other Outfitters as appropriate.
Provide exceptional customer service when customers or Outfitters appear to need assistance or behave suspiciously.
Analyze cycle counts, trailer audits, known loss, vendor compliance opportunities, and exception reports to identify causes of shrink.
Review inventory adjustments, investigate discrepancies, and ensure over- and short-shipment issues are investigated and resolved between the distribution center and store.
Promote commitment to asset protection programs among Outfitters and vendors, and educate staff on merchandise protection tools and point-of-purchase procedures.
Monitor and maintain physical security and merchandise protection standards in the store.
Monitor facility property and parking areas to help maintain a safe and secure environment for Outfitters, customers, and vendors.
Conduct known-loss investigations and exception-report reviews.
Assist with investigations involving criminal activity, policy violations, illicit behavior, workplace accidents or violence, and operational or nefarious loss.
Monitor criminal cases, appear in court, and testify as warranted.
Gather information and conduct integrity interviews when assigned or authorized.
Assist in investigating compliance or process irregularities involving firearms protocols.
Ensure asset protection and security systems are maintained and functioning appropriately.
Promote safety programs with store leadership, support safe work procedures, and participate on the safety committee.
Prepare detailed, accurate reports in a timely manner.
Obtain and maintain certifications or licenses required by applicable law.
Perform other duties as assigned.
