About The Position

The Asset Protection Coordinator is an hourly position that reports directly to the Market Asset Protection Manager. The role maintains and monitors asset protection, security, compliance, and safety functions within a facility. The Asset Protection team works to reduce shrink, maintain accurate inventory and compliance, and provide a safe and secure environment for employees and customers. This is accomplished through administrative reviews of reports, sales-floor observation and education, and monitoring compliance with established safety, inventory, and shrink directives. This uniformed role spends time on the sales floor and interacts with customers. The coordinator supports training and development, investigates losses and irregularities, monitors physical security and merchandise protection, supports safety programs, and prepares timely, accurate reports. Travel is not an essential function and, if requested, would be less than 10%.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Demonstrated experience conducting criminal, internal, or related investigations.
Experience using physical security systems such as CCTV and EAS.
Experience conducting quality reviews or audits.
Ability to perform computer work, walk, stand, and lift up to 50 pounds regularly; sitting occurs occasionally.
Ability to obtain certifications or licenses required by applicable law.

Nice To Haves

Associate degree or bachelor's degree in criminal justice, security management, or a related field from an accredited institution.
Previous experience in security, asset protection, and safety, or a retail inventory background.
Current AHA First Aid, CPR, and AED certification.

Responsibilities

Assist with training and continued development for Outfitters on shrink, safety, and security functions.
Communicate Asset Protection directives and initiatives to store leadership and Outfitters as appropriate.
Provide customer service to customers or Outfitters who may need assistance or appear to be acting suspiciously.
Analyze cycle counts, trailer audits, known loss, vendor compliance opportunities, and exception reports to identify root causes of shrink.
Review inventory adjustments for accountability and investigate discrepancies; ensure over- and short-shipments between the distribution center and store are investigated and resolved.
Encourage commitment to asset protection programs among Outfitters and vendors.
Educate employees on removing merchandise protection tools and ensuring products are paid for at point-of-purchase locations; monitor physical security and merchandise protection standards.
Monitor facility property and parking areas to support a safe and secure environment.
Conduct known-loss investigations and review exception reports.
Assist with investigations into criminal activity, policy violations, illicit behavior, workplace accidents, workplace violence, and operational or nefarious loss.
Monitor criminal cases, appear in court, and testify when warranted.
Gather information and conduct integrity interviews when assigned or authorized.
Assist with investigations of irregularities involving firearms protocols and compliance or process concerns.
Ensure asset protection and security systems are maintained and functioning appropriately.
Assist store leadership with safety programs, promote a safe work environment, support safe work procedures, and participate on the safety committee.
Prepare detailed and accurate reports in a timely manner.
Obtain and maintain certifications or licenses required by applicable law.
Perform other duties as assigned.
