About The Position

The Asset Protection Coordinator is an hourly position that reports directly to the Market Asset Protection Manager. The role maintains and monitors asset protection, security, compliance, and safety functions within a facility. The Asset Protection team works to reduce shrink, maintain inventory accuracy and compliance, and provide a safe and secure environment for employees and customers through report reviews, sales-floor observation and education, and monitoring adherence to safety, inventory, and shrink directives. This is a uniform-required position that spends time on the sales floor and interacts with customers. The coordinator supports training and development, investigations, physical security and merchandise protection, safety programs, and accurate, timely reporting. Travel is not an essential function; if requested, it would be less than 10%.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Demonstrated experience conducting criminal, internal, or related investigations.
Experience using physical security systems such as CCTV and EAS.
Experience conducting quality reviews or audits.
Certification or license as required by local jurisdiction.
Ability to perform computer work, walk, stand, and lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to exercise independent judgment within company policies, procedures, and objectives.

Nice To Haves

Associate or bachelor's degree in criminal justice, security management, or a related field from an accredited institution.
Previous experience in security, asset protection, and safety, or a retail inventory background.
Current AHA First Aid/CPR/AED certification.

Responsibilities

Assist with training and continued development for Outfitters on shrink, safety, and security functions.
Communicate Asset Protection directives and initiatives to store leadership and other Outfitters as appropriate.
Provide customer service on the sales floor, including when customers or Outfitters appear to need assistance or are acting suspiciously.
Analyze cycle counts, trailer audits, known loss, vendor compliance opportunities, and other exception reports to identify root causes of shrink.
Review inventory adjustments for accountability and investigate potential discrepancies; ensure over/short shipments are investigated and resolved between the distribution center and store.
Encourage commitment to asset protection programs among Outfitters and vendors.
Educate staff on removing merchandise protection tools and ensuring merchandise is paid for at point of purchase; monitor physical security and merchandise protection standards.
Monitor facility property and parking areas to help maintain a safe and secure environment.
Conduct known-loss investigations and review exception reports.
Assist with investigations into criminal activity, policy violations, illicit behavior, workplace accidents, workplace violence, and operational or nefarious loss.
Monitor criminal cases, appear in court, and testify as warranted.
Conduct information-gathering and integrity interviews when assigned or authorized.
Assist with investigating compliance or process irregularities involving firearms protocols.
Ensure asset protection and security systems are maintained and functioning properly.
Support store leadership in promoting safety programs and safe work procedures, and participate on the safety committee.
Prepare detailed and accurate reports in a timely manner.
Possess or obtain certifications and licenses required by applicable law.
Perform other duties as assigned.
