About The Position

The Asset Protection Associate is a highly visible store loss prevention position for Hibbett City Gear. The role requires integrity, a positive attitude, and close attention to detail. The associate observes store activity, communicates suspicious behavior to managers, supports internal controls, and helps protect company assets and financial information. The position reports to the Store Manager and has no supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements

• Positive customer service skills for interacting with store personnel and customers.
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing across all levels of the organization, internally and externally.
• Attention to detail, time management, and ability to multitask.
• Ability to stand for the entire shift; sitting is not permitted while observing.

Responsibilities

• Maintain floor awareness and observe behavior and body language that may indicate possible theft.
• Communicate suspicious behavior to managers.
• Work with managers to ensure associates’ personal belongings are checked before they leave the store.
• Thank customers for their business as they leave and invite them back.
• Stop and confront customers observed concealing merchandise.
• Provide police with detailed information about individuals who have stolen merchandise.
• Protect company assets and financial information by ensuring the accuracy and effectiveness of internal control procedures and informing management or appropriate officials of potential fraud risk.
