About The Position

Hibbett I City Gear seeks an individual with integrity to support store loss prevention. The Asset Protection Associate is a highly visible role requiring a positive attitude and strong attention to detail. The position focuses on observing and reporting suspicious behavior, helping protect store assets, and providing customer service. The role has no supervisory responsibilities and requires standing throughout the shift.

Requirements

• Positive customer service skills for interacting with store personnel and customers.
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing across all levels of the organization, internally and externally.
• Attention to detail, time management, and ability to multitask.
• Ability to stand for the entire shift; sitting is not permitted while observing.

Responsibilities

• Maintain awareness on the sales floor and observe behavior or body language that may indicate theft.
• Communicate suspicious behavior to managers.
• Work with managers to ensure associates’ personal belongings are checked before they leave the store.
• Thank customers as they leave and invite them to return.
• Be prepared to stop and confront customers observed concealing merchandise.
• Provide police with detailed information about people who have stolen merchandise.
• Protect company assets and financial information by ensuring internal control procedures are accurate and effective, and report potential fraud risks to management or appropriate officials.
