About The Position

The Assembler - Bench assembles structural sections of aircraft from fabricated parts, subassemblies, and components. The role uses hand and power tools safely and follows blueprints and specifications. Work includes drilling holes, attaching brackets, hinges, or clips, and cutting, trimming, and filing parts to achieve proper fit. The assembler also identifies reference points and installation holes, checks alignment against acceptable tolerances, and maintains a clean work area, tools, and equipment. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Ability to read blueprints.
Ability to perform basic mathematical operations using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals, across units of measure.
Ability to communicate verbally with management and coworkers, listen without interrupting, and seek clarification when needed.
Ability to safely and properly use gauges, calipers, and other tools and equipment.
Ability to identify materials and supplies according to specifications.
Strong attention to detail and focus on quality and accuracy.
Dependability, including following instructions, responding to supervisor direction, and taking responsibility for one's actions.
Ability to take initiative, ask for and offer help when needed, and work independently without prompting.
Ability to prioritize and plan work, use time efficiently, and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

Assemble aircraft structural sections from fabricated parts, subassemblies, and components according to blueprints and specifications.
Safely use hand tools and power tools.
Drill holes in structures and subassemblies and attach brackets, hinges, or clips.
Cut, trim, and file parts to achieve proper fit.
Locate and identify reference points and installation holes using jigs, templates, and measuring instruments.
Ensure parts are aligned to acceptable tolerances.
Maintain a clean work area, tools, and equipment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
