Aspire Bay Area is recruiting residents for its 2027–2028 Teacher Residency cohort in partnership with Alder GSE. This one-year program offers an affordable pathway to becoming a full-time teacher. Residents complete rigorous coursework led by Alder GSE faculty while gaining hands-on classroom experience through a mentorship-based co-teaching model in a TK–12 classroom. Upon completion, graduates earn a master’s degree and teaching credential and receive priority consideration for full-time teaching positions within Aspire Bay Area. The program’s listed tuition is $24,820. Residents receive a $51,000 stipend and may be eligible for additional grants, scholarships, and loans. Residents are not employees of the school. Candidates are being recruited in special education, math, social science, science, and multiple-subject K–12 areas. Residency partner locations are East Palo Alto, Richmond, and Oakland. The priority application deadline is October 9, 2026; the fall deadline is November 6, 2026; the winter deadline is February 5, 2027; and the spring deadline is March 19, 2027.
